YOUTH AND FAMILY

Youth at All Saints are able to take part in planning Lenten and Advent services, as well as to participate in congregational events and activities that happen throughout the year. Youth are encouraged and welcomed to become worship volunteers. All Saints youth also participate in ELCA Youth Gatherings. Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. All Saints also seeks chaperones - adults of any age that love kids and can serve as good Christian role models. Opportunities for chaperones include evening, day, weekend, or week-long events.

sunday school

Sunday School meets every Sunday during worship during the school year. Children join their teachers after the childrens’ sermon.

All children in 4K thru 5th grade are welcome to register to attend Sunday School. You do not have to be a member of All Saints to attend Sunday School here!

We welcome all visitors and invite you to join us all year long! Come as you are! All God’s children are welcome here!

First Communion classes are offered to second graders.

Third graders are given study Bibles in September to help them grow in faith.

confirmation classes - 6th through 8th grade

Here at All Saints, we recognize that as youth get older, their faith needs to grow too! Confirmation classes start in 6th grade and continue until the spring of their 8th-grade year. Youth and mentors meet Wednesday evenings during the school year. The youth grow through volunteer hours and deepening their faith over the year. Confirmation students turn in volunteer service hour sheets and sermon note sheets as we encourage them to sprout in self, as well as into their community. The youth also attend a Youth Jr High Blast in the fall at Crossways Camp to enrich their experience.

Confirmation Sunday

Students in the confirmation classes are confirmed in the 8th Grade. They explore their faith deeply and display a faith statement on Confirmation Sunday.

Youth Events

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.

An important part of the Gathering's ministry are the two pre-events, the Multicultural Youth Leadership Event (MYLE), a faith formation and leadership development event primarily for youth of color, and the tAble, a gathering that gathers, blesses and empowers youth with disabilities.

Youth Camps & Leadership Programs

Campers of all ages grow in faith, friendship, and self-esteem at camp! Youth camps are specially designed to meet the needs of campers throughout childhood and adolescence. Youth camps at Crossways are relational, participatory, and faith-centered!

Part of the transformational power of camp comes from the independence and autonomy campers develop as a result of being in a place that is different from home. Camp provides just the right amount of opportunities to challenge oneself, learn new skills, and make new skills in a safe environment.

All programs include camp-style worship, Bible study, and evening devotions. Faith comes alive at camp, where campers come together in Christ, lives are changed, and communities are enhanced!

Study Bible for Kids--Given to the 3rd Graders

One of the promises that parents and churches make at baptism is that we will put the Word of God in the hands of our children.  We’ve been sharing in that task through ministries such as Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, children’s sermons and just plain telling them that Jesus loves them.

When our kids reach the third grade, we take the next step of giving them their own study Bibles so they can read for themselves the wonders of God’s work and love.

the Beginner’s Bible- Given to those at Baptism

This Bible is given to each of the children who are baptized at All Saints. It is inscribed on the inside cover that it is special for them as they start their journey to know Christ.

Here we stand - Lutheran study bible - Used in our confirmation classes

This is the Bible that the kids use in confirmation classes from 6th to 8th grade. The Bible is given to the students when they start confirmation classes and is well loved by the Sunday they are confirmed.

It features the NRSV translation as well as introductions, notes, and articles written by over sixty Lutheran pastors and teaching theologians. This resource is designed to invite confirmation students to experience the Bible and its message through solid background material, unique Lutheran insights, and opportunities for faith reflection.
